Member Spotlight – Meet Renee Wurm
Tell us all about yourself!
“I’m an Ohio girl through and through; born and raised on Cleveland’s west side in Avon, high school at Magnificat, and a Business/Marketing/Communications degree from Miami University. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked for years as a medical sales rep, traveling constantly and loving every minute of it.”
Renee and her husband Matt, met on eharmony and have been married 14 years. They have two kids, Becca (10) and Logan (8), and about 12 years ago they built their home and put down roots in Bainbridge/Kenston. They are an active, outdoorsy family; boating and fishing on Lake Erie from their second home in Marblehead, cheering on Cleveland sports, and always trying to squeeze in more golf and skiing around the kids’ schedules. Renee personally loves nine holes of golf, skiing, traveling, writing poetry, a chilled glass of Rosé, and anything outdoors!
“I’m very social by nature; always up for new restaurants, wines, and experiences. I recently learned Mahjong and I’m hooked; if you’d like to learn (or already play), let’s Mahj soon!”
Now that both kids are in school full-time, Renee is entering a new season of life; finally finding time to rediscover what makes her happy, not just as a mom or wife, but as herself.
Why Wembley?
“Wembley has also become an important part of this chapter in my life. I joined initially to start my own strengthening journey after having kids, but I didn’t expect the club to strengthen me in other ways, too. It introduced me to yoga (I’ll admit, I stay in the back row!) along with so many other classes and activities; I often wish I’d joined sooner. What started as something for myself has become something I share with my kids, especially at the pool, indoors and out. Tennis and pickleball are next on our list!”
In many ways, this stage of life feels like rediscovery to Renee. Her kids are more independent, and she’s finding time to revisit old interests, try new ones, and figure out what brings her joy in this next chapter.
“Fashion, fitness, friendships, family, and trying something new whenever I can; that seems like a pretty great place to start. And speaking of trying something new, I’d love to invite the women of Wembley to come say hello and experience a little “styling with heart” for themselves!”
Renee will be hosting a cabi Pop-Up Shop on Thursday, September 24, in the Event Room near the Tavern. Stop in anytime from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. or 4–7 p.m. to browse, get some personal styling inspiration, discover something new—or simply stop by and say hi! She’d love to see you there!
Finding Strength, Style, and A New Chapter!
“I’ve taken my lifelong love of fashion and shopping and turned it into a part-time business as a Stylist with the fashion brand, cabi. This role has given me a creative outlet while still allowing me the flexibility to be present for my family. More importantly, I’ve discovered how much I enjoy helping other women find clothing and personal style that makes them feel as good as they look.”
“I truly believe every woman—regardless of her size, shape, age or phase of life—deserves to look in the mirror and feel beautiful and confident. That’s what I love about cabi. To me, it really is “styling with heart.” Beyond the clothes, cabi also gives back to women in need through the Heart of cabi Foundation and Love Local giving initiatives, making this small business feel even more meaningful to me as volunteering and doing charitable acts of kindness has always been a part of who I am and how I am raising my children.”

What is Meditation? – Vishali Gupta
There is often a great deal of fear and misunderstanding around meditation. Many of us assume that meditation means stopping all thoughts or completely emptying the mind. But meditation is not about forcing thoughts to disappear.
Instead, it is about cultivating awareness—becoming more conscious of our thoughts and feelings, our body, and the world around us. In Sanskrit, this cultivation is known as Bhāvanā, a word that also carries the meaning of deeply cultivating a particular state of mind.
Through this awareness, we begin to gain insight into our behaviors and habits, including the patterns that create restlessness in the mind. This insight becomes the starting point for spiritual growth and a deeper sense of peace.

Eat with the Season
Apples: Peak season begins for crisp fall apples. They are high in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants that support heart health and digestion.
Figs: Fresh figs are in season and packed with calcium, potassium, and fiber for bone and gut health.
Sweet Potatoes: Early harvests start now. They are rich in vitamin A, iron, and anti-inflammatory compounds.
Tomatoes: The last of the summer crop is at its peak flavor, providing lycopene, which protects cells from damage.
