Member Spotlight – Meet The Piletz Family
Tell us all about yourself!
“Hillary and I moved from Tremont to Chagrin Falls in 2021, just before the birth of our first child, Rosemary. We’ve absolutely love the community here—and Wembley is a big reason why. Our house is very much run (and we mean run) by Rosemary (5) and Levi (3).”
“Rosemary loves swimming and her Tiny Tots tennis lessons, and at Wembley she’s pretty clearly the most popular Piletz. She makes a point to wave to all of her “friends at tennis,” – which is how she references the staff at Wembley – they always wave right back. Levi loves jumping in the pool and is always close behind her, doing whatever she’s doing (or whatever she’s telling him to do).”
“We’re an active family and love being outside. Winters are for skiing, summers are for pool days and long evenings, and in between we’re usually chasing the next adventure, playground, or casual spot where the kids can run and we can relax. We love to travel, cheer on Cleveland sports teams and my Ole Miss Rebels, and spend time together—usually with a little chaos mixed in.”
What's your favorite skiing trip you've had?
“It’s hard to pick just one. Most people would probably say something iconic like Alta, Vail, or Killington. But these days, skiing is really about our weekends at Holiday Valley, teaching Rosemary—and soon Levi—how to ski.”
“Rosemary now has three seasons under her belt, and her progress each year has been amazing. I have core memories of her skiing “firsts”: making it down her first blue run, carving her own tracks in the powder, and weaving through the glades. But my most meaningful moments actually come from our time on the lifts.”
My favorite was when she said, “Daddy, there are so many fun things about winter. You can go skiing, go sledding, build a snowman, make snow angels, go on a hike…” Moments like that are hard to beat.
Why did your family decide to join Wembley?
I’d like to answer this with two parts: why we initially joined, and why we’ve stayed.
We first joined Wembley because we were looking for a place to exercise that had an indoor pool and indoor tennis. The fitness facilities were for Hillary, the pool was for our kids to learn how to swim, and the tennis was for me. We looked at three clubs, and Wembley stood out as the best fit with the The Arena and tennis program really setting it apart.
But the reason we’ve stayed is the staff and the sense of community. For me, a big part of that is the group of guys I play with in Jim Clegg’s tennis group a few times a week. There’s something special about sweating through two tough sets on the court, then heading to the Tavern afterward to sit for a drink—replaying points from the match, sharing a few laughs, and catching up on life.
While writing this, I asked Rosemary and Levi what their favorite thing to do at Wembley was. I expected them to say the pool or the food—but they said, “cheer daddy on at tennis.” When I asked what their favorite thing to do together was, they said, “hug each other.”
While we may not need a club to cheer daddy on or hug each other, it perfectly captures why we continue to choose Wembley: because it brings our family closer together.

FUN FACT(S)
Kristin loves staying active and finds her happy place on the tennis court. While the sport can be both challenging and humbling (and she often finds herself asking why she plays!), it brings her so much joy and keeps her coming back for more.
She’s also a dedicated early riser—like really early. You can usually find her up around 4 AM, enjoying a hot cup of coffee and some quiet “me time” before the house wakes up. Once the day gets going, she loves spending time with her two kids, Lincoln (2) and Elliotte (5). Whether it’s park days, picnics, or just being outside, they’re her favorite people to hang out with.
FAVORITE PART OF THE EXERCISE
She brings high energy and a music-driven vibe to every class she teaches. Her playlists are filled with remixes and EDM to keep you motivated and moving—she wants every rider to feel like they’re working hard and having a great time.
You can catch Kristin teaching Power Cycle on Mondays and Fridays at 7:20 AM. Her classes focus on interval training on the bike, are suitable for all levels, and are designed to kickstart your morning with great music and an energizing workout.

Wellness Tools
Check out a couple tools below to help get your Spring activity back into action!
Why warm up beforehand?
Prepares your muscles for performance
An active warm-up improves circulation and raises muscle temperature, allowing muscles to become more flexible and reactive. When muscles are cold, they’re tighter and more vulnerable to strain, but once warmed up, they contract more effectively and produce greater power.
Reduces risk of injury
Jumping straight into intense activity places sudden stress on your joints, tendons, and ligaments. A proper warm-up eases your body into movement, helping reduce the risk of common injuries like pulls, strains, and sprains; especially in activities like tennis or running.
How to recognize signs of injury before the actual injury:
- Tightness that doesn’t go away
- Tight muscles are more likely to tear when pushed further
- Decreased performance or weakness
- Everything feels off or movements feel harder than normal
- Limited range of motion
- Joint irritation, muscle tightness, or inflammation can occur
